The chair of high-voltage engineering deals with ongoing problems of high voltage technology applications. The main focus of research and development activities is the research and improvement of new insulating materials, qualification of new measurement systems including the field of opto sensor technology as well as investigations in the field of electromagnetic compatibility.
The chair of high-voltage engineering has been headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Jenau (successor of Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dirk Peier) since April 2009 and is supported by the faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
